Lower Yough Trip
A Labor Day trip to the cabin with a float down the Lower Yough River. This is always one of my favorite activities, unfortunately I don’t get to do it as often as I would like. Our family has always had a cabin down near Ohiopyle that it is only a 20 minute drive to the falls and drop in for the rafting trips, but finding people to go rafting can be tricky.
I was at the cabin with Liz, my parents, and my sister when my brother and his wife showed up with their kids to drop off before their rafting trip. When they were dropping off the kids they mentioned that a few people dropped off of their reservation and that there was space available if I wanted to join. Obviously I did, so I grabbed my suit and jumped in the car with them.
The group that we went with was mainly friends from college, and a few friends by association. We booked the deluxe package which included 2 personal guides, lunch, snacks, and a few detours for sight seeing. This was a fun way to do this trip because the guides weren’t our boats but would kayak with us and just tell us how to approach the rapids. They did join us once as we went through dimple rock which can be dangerous if not approached properly.
It was a fun group that we had, lots of funny moments of people being thrown out of the rafts, jumping off rocks, and just floating in the water. 10 out of 10 would recommend and do again. So here are some pictures and a small video of this trip. Thats all. Bye!
